The KIM model

is a theoretical model that in a new, innovative and concrete way shows the situations that can arise in groups and organisations – in other words, complex systems. It is an analytical method and a way to increase awareness of both implicit and explicit sources of change.

The analysis follows a clear structure at the same time it allows freedom in focus and application.

It can highlight the present situation, the background, values and the future.

It is creative and easy to understand. Using images / metaphors, the KIMR model puts into words how the system can develop your business and human interactions.

The KIM perspective provides a system-level overview that focuses on the big picture.

It looks at the internal system as well as the external organisation and environment.

It makes the individual’s interactions with the system explicit.

  • The images provides a way of looking at – and a methodology for shaping – processes within the organisation.
  • It helps us think and act in new ways, interpreting and transforming the organisation in the process.
  • It provides insights and understanding that cannot be achieved with rational linear thinking.
